DESIGN REASONING
Condition
The house in La Lonja had to be accessible to a wheelchair user, built in stages and make use of materials already purchased by the owner.
Operation
Common areas are resolved without barriers, a covered terrace follows the perimeter and an interior courtyard organizes daylight and cross ventilation.
Outcome
Growth can be managed according to available resources without compromising accessibility, everyday use or indoor environmental quality.
Materialization
The available concrete blocks define an economical, robust solution, incorporated into the design as a condition rather than treated as a late limitation.
