DESIGN REASONING
Condition
The development had to accommodate residential life in the Delta without losing trees, biodiversity or autonomy from conventional utility networks.
Operation
Navigable canals and a pedestrian route organize movement; botanical garden, allotments, rainwater harvesting, solar energy and biodigesters form the environmental infrastructure.
Outcome
The community combines water access, collective life and conservation, reducing energy dependence through systems integrated into the urban design.
Materialization
The houses are proposed mainly in timber, with green roofs, covered terraces, solar protection and cross ventilation to reduce heat loads and ground impact.
